Josh smiled reaching for his belongings as she dragged him along. "Alright I think I have everything!" he said almost laughing as he stared back down at his almost empty dufflebag. "Maybe I could get a job too?" he asked looking back at her.

Her smile got wider. 'He has a nice laugh' she thought. "Depends...Do you like music?" Quidam asked him, excitement in her voice.

"Yeah but I can't sing." Josh said this with a straight face and hoped that it didn't involve singing. He wondered what the apartment looked like, and if he would actually feel comfortable living in it.

"Oh it doesn't involve singing. It's at a music store, the kind where they sell CD's and such, not where they sell instruments." Quidam said happily. She felt as if she were making another friend.

"Oh yea that would be fun! Is your apartment far from here?" he asked grasping his dufflebag better than before. It was great to finally meet someone like himself, but he did feel embarass for not saying his name yet. "Oh and my name is Josh Preston!"

She smiled back. "My name is Quidam Aaron. Nah it isn't too far. It's only about 20 minutes on foot from here. It's nothing special though, seeing as it's run down and such. Just two couches and rooms that are dusty." Quidam laughed nervously.

"Heh, dusty? This factory is a whole lot worse I bet." he smiled as he noticed that they were outside now. "Alright where to next?"

"Just about five blocks away. It's here in Flushing, so it won't take too long. After twenty minutes, they walked to a building with boarded up windows and old-aged brick. Vines were growing over the boarded up windows and down the house walls. Quidam took in a steady breah.
"It's not much, but it's home...Do you like it?." she asked, getting sortof nervous if he said he didn't.

Josh looked around feeling embarassed to have lived in that old factory. "It's better than that dirty old factory!" he smirked going toward the door. "I'd say your lucky to have a home."

Quidam smiled lightly. "Yea, well sometimes I worry if I'm going to get sick or not, but I clean it all the time." Quidam walked through the door, taking Josh along with her. They walked up two flights of stairs when they reched the room she was in. SHe opened the door and said, "It's not much, but it's home.".
It was a dimly lit room, lit only by two candles and a lamp with the bulb about to go out. There were two couches. One for three people and one love seat. They were both faux leather black, but they were scratched and ripped, and cotton was coming out of them. There was a kitchen with a small island and a non-working microwave and a barely alive fridge.

"Well it's fine with me, it's cozy!" he smiled at her with enthusiasm. He didn't noticed it wasn't the best thing, but he knew it was better living in the factory. "May I sit?" he questioned pointing to one of the couches.

"Yea, go ahead!" Quidam said, sitting down herself. She had to admit the couches were comfy. Not new comfy, but comfy all the same. "So...Where are you from?" she asked, looking at him

Josh sat down immediately after her permission and felt more comfortable. "From Queens, I basically grew up there...I lived with my aunt after my parents died." Josh said this casually because he hadn't really liked his parents. "So what do you do for fun around here? Practice your powers?"

She shook her head. "Not really. I don't really like my powers. They scare me half the time. I practice it in the graveyard in the middle of the night. I usually just take out my drawing pad and draw." Quidam said. She bent down and started feeling around for her sketchpad underneath the couch. She took it out and asked, 'Would you like to see?".

"Sure!" Josh smiled with a warm expression on his face. He did think her power was alittle scary, but it sure was cool to him. "Well have you seen any of those scientists since the escape?"

'Not really." Quidam said, "And I'm really glad that I haven't... What ABout you?" she asked him.
